Hiking in Zell am See
A summer retreat in the mountains
When hiking in Zell am See, you will find a 400 km network of routes with sections for all levels of difficulty. From easy hikes to huts with the whole family, to quiet walks in the valley, to ambitious climbs to the highest peak, there is a suitable route for everyone. Hikes up our nearest mountain, the Schmittenhöhe, are appealing because of the magnificent views of the surrounding alpine scenery. Tours up the Maiskogel, around the reservoirs, or up the Kitzsteinhorn are also popular. Those who want to relax their muscles can take the mountain lifts that run in the summer. Our guests love the close proximity to the “CityXpress” cable car, which takes them directly to the Schmittenhöhe hiking paradise.
Children surely won’t be bored during a family holiday in Zell am See. The “Schmidolins Feuertaufe” hiking and adventure trail (which is named after Schmidolin the dragon) promises a lot of excitement. With 15 stations, it is a fun way to experience nature. Exercise and fresh air are known to make visitors hungry and thirsty: Head to one of the many traditional restaurants and mountain huts, and enjoy regional delicacies.
Holiday with your dog
